Blankets for Babies
Jennifer Daniels
The last meeting of 2003 was the
Christmas dinner. Debbie Bradley had told the
women to be praying for the meeting. When the
meeting came, she asked for volunteers. She
then, gave those five people who volunteered $20
each and asked us to use the money to help "promote"
Campbell Chapel Church.
I began thinking about the things
our family had been through over the past seven
months. I began thinking about Joshie's
epilepsy and how he had handled the blood work and
all the tests. The only thing that got him
through was his "blankie." God reminded me
that Joshie wasn't the only sick kid around , and
there were other kids with families who needed some
comfort and love. Thus, "Blankets for Babies."
This program is solely based on the
idea that, even if you don't know who they are,
there are people who care and love you. We
wanted to let those families with children in the
hospital know that there is someone who is praying
for their child and genuinely cares for them.
We more importantly, want them to know that God
loves them.
Ten blankets, five for boys and five
for girls are sent to the Pediatrics Department each
month at King's Daughters Hospital to be given to
the sick children. We hope that the blankets
help to make the child's stay a little less scary.
We know that ten blankets aren't enough to cover
every child that comes into the hospital, but we are
confident that God directs them to the families who
need them most.
Please pray for this ministry that
God will continue to add His blessing and that,
ultimately, we can see people saved.
